James H. Gruft, M.D.- Medical Director

Dr. James Gruft, founder of From Pain To Wellness LLC, received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine.  He was the medical director of one of the oldest pain management programs in the Chicago for more than 14 years before establishing his pain-management practice From Pain To Wellness LLC. 

Dr. Gruft is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (P.M. & R.) and Pain Medicine (D.A.B.P.M.). Voted as Best Doctor for the years 2002 to present via a nationwide survey of doctors, Dr. Gruft is respected by physicians throughout the country as "one of the premier pain specialists practicing today."

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, a diplomat of the American Board of Pain Medicine, and a member of the following medical organizations:

In his practice, Dr. Gruft uses a hands-on, integrative system of care that he developed to expand the (primarily physical) focus on pain. His system thoroughly explores the components needed to effectively address and treat a patient's suffering - both the physical and emotional elements.

 

Sudhakar Rajamoney, P.T., Physical Therapy Department Manager

Sudhakar Rajamoney received his degree in Physiotherapy from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India in 1993.  He was trained at Vellore in Muscle Energy Technique.  This, along with his exposure to traditional Indian healing arts, has forever changed the way he treats the spine.  He integrates this along with various treatment approaches by Cyriax, Janda, Maitland, Mckenzie, Butler, Travell as well as Strain Counterstrain, Myofascial Release and Kinesiotaping Techniques.

As a manual physical therapist, his focus is not just treating the symptoms but also educating and thereby empowering individuals to take an active part in their health.

He believes in the physical, emotional and spiritual connection and its importance on the journey towards wellness.

 

Margarita Tolentino, D.O.

Dr. Margarita Tolentino completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she also served as chief resident.

She received her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in 2000. She is a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, where she received her D.O. in 2006. She is an assistant professor in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Tolentino’s clinical interests include chronic pain management, women’s health/pelvic floor dysfunction, musculoskeletal disorders, and electrodiagnostic medicine. 

 

Elena Petrova, P.T.A.

Elena Petrova received her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from  the College of DuPage in 2009. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Novosibirsk Pedagogical University, Russia.

Elena's main goal is to help patients with chronic pain to incorporate sustained physical activities in their lifestyle. She teaches to use exercises, stretches, and simple relaxation techniques to manage pain and improve the quality of life.

Elena has many years of personal experience with Yoga and Pilates, and likes to use this knowledge in therapy. She strongly believes that a better body awareness and small, yet conscious, changes will lead to a healthier life.
